Love, author, designer, song-writer, founded Jubilee Jam in 2007 based on her book series Jubilee Jam, A Not Too Distant Land. She has also developed a compatible virtual world, with games and virtual playrooms. Love, describes Jubilee Jam as “a back-to-basics feel good brand”.

“We love to support organizations like Operation Blessing and World Vision,” says Love. “These groups are making a dramatic impact in the lives of children and communities with long term benefits like clean wells, education, vaccines and food.”

Jubilee Jam, while still a struggling start-up, has had web traffic as high as 250,000 per month. Toys and books are sold at specialty retailers and on the Jubilee Jam website.

Love, who partners with Hallmark to manufacture her products, is dedicated to superior, quality designs and products. The “Made with Heart” toys and books are no doubt endearing and enduring. “Designs are underway for a next-generation of all organic products.”

“Jubilee Jam is clearly a classic in the making with toys, books, songs, virtual world, e-cards and hopefully, one day it’s own animation series,” laughs Love. “Entertaining children and helping others at the same time, what could be better for the world right now than that”?

Love and Jubilee Jam are featured in Crave Atlanta, a new book highlightling top women entrepreneurs in Atlanta.

Fall is Here!!!

Happy Fall everybody!

fall trees 1I hope wherever you are the weather is as nice there as it’s been here. The Fall colors are as beautiful and vivid this year as I’ve ever seen. And now that the new Corner Store is finished, and Christmas IS right around the corner, we have some great new specials just in time for the holiday season.

Oddly enough, my kids gave me their Christmas list, last Christmas, right after opening presents. I wasn’t sure exactly what to make of that. I had to wonder. Did they not get what they wanted, or do they always just want more? Better yet, how can I instill in them a sense of gratitude and appreciation even in the small things when they are constantly bombarded with so much commercialism? How long does the thrill of a new over-marketed toy last before it gets tossed aside for the next new thing?

I hope you will find as you experience the Jubilee Jam toys and books for yourself, that there is an intentional substantive element baked into every part. Each toy offers a special intangible presence children LOVE. In fact, it can hannahgrow stronger over time, the way toys used to. Just read the email from an enthusiastic parent below.

“To the wonderful Jubilee Jam staff,

Yesterday, my 5-year-old daughter Hannah lost her beloved Jubilee Jam “Hannah Banana” doll while she was visiting museums in Washington, DC. By the time she discovered the doll had fallen out of her backpack, it was too late to go back and retrace her steps through the many places she had been. She was heartbroken. We got Hannah Banana in the gift shop the last time we were at A.I. DuPont Children’s Hospital, which is about an hour from our home. We go there for appointments with an eye specialist twice a year. And my Hannah was so delighted to find a doll that not only looked like her, but was named after her, too! We bought her at once, and she’s been quite attached to her ever since. She plays with Hannah Banana’s “Oh Zone” on your website all the time, and she sleeps with the doll and carries her around with her. I promised her I’d find her a new Hannah Banana, and was hoping I could do so online. Can you please help me get my Hannah a new Hannah Banana? Thank you in advance for your help in replacing our doll, and please keep up the great work on your fabulous website. Hannah and I love it more than anything Disney or Noggin or any of those “major” companies have on the web.

Peace and Blessings “

Toys With Heart Logo_FinalRemember when a toy was more than just a toy? You love them, cherished them, kept them…… It seems to me that now more than ever, when we are stretching every dollar and reevaluating true priorities, the products that create positive experiences and maybe even lasting memories for kids is a penny well spent. I had to smile when a friend called to tell me the basket of Jubilee Jam toys and books I had donated for her charity auction went for $625. The best part was when she told me 2 pregnant moms had a real stand-off. They hovered around the basket both agreeing that the Jubilee Jam toys and books were the new rage, even at a premium. But, don’t just take my word for it. Come see for yourself. Remember to check out our discounts offered on Facebook to help you stretch those dollars this year.

Until next time,

Our New Corner Store is OPEN! HOORAY!!!!!!

What a great week of Fall weather we’ve had here in Atlanta! Over the weekend we had our first blast of cold air so I built our first fire, cooked a big pot of vegetable soup and made my kids favorite pound cake, which lasted less than 24 hours.

The candy isn’t passed out yet, the turkey isn’t bought for Thanksgiving, but already the stores are filling up with Holiday decorations and gifts.

I’m so excited to launch our newly renovated e-store just in time for you to have something new for all the kids on your Christmas list. Take a look at the NEW Corner Store. You’ll enjoy the bright fun colors and feel like you just stepped into Jubilee Jam for a little shopping. We’ll have to see about getting Pumpkin’s Bakery opened next door for a little virtual refreshment as you shop! I can almost smell the pies now!

Indeed the holidays bring all sorts of fun and warm memories. Just like the movie “It’s A Wonderful Life, “ We get the Store _rev3chance to pause and reflect on how life really should be and all that’s really important. The people we love, the blessings we have been given, and the opportunity to share with those less fortunate. In many ways those are the rich and vital elements that I feel make up the Jubilee Jam brand.

In the midst of all the commercialism and glitter, I have endeavored to create toys, books, songs, and even a virtual world that reminds us that it truly is a wonderful life. Joy can triumph over sadness, the good guys always win, and “hope springs eternal! ” (Shakespeare)

SO, as I’ve attempted to describe the essence of the Jubilee Jam brand and it’s unique DNA the last few weeks, I would have to say it is most summarized in the fullness of our best Christmas ideals. Where there really is peace on earth, joy rings loud and long in our hearts, life is still a great adventure, and dreams REALLY can come true.

All it takes is a little “magic jam”, and angel/hero or two…..

That and of course you have to Bee-live!

I hope you and your loved ones truly enjoy this warm and soulful season.

Thanks for stopping by.

An Uncomfortable Hat…..

Ok, this week I found myself wearing a less than favorite hat – the plight of an entrepreneur. I’m redesigning the online Corner Store, where our toys and books are available for you to open our world to your children, grandchildren, and friends. While the store is critical…..as is getting your investment in my little venture…. I’d much rather be doing more new town scenefun, effortless things like writing new stories, and songs, and creating new activities and e-cards for the website.

THAT is my passion!

In fact, this week I came across a little inspirational book on Dreams. The author is a Dream Coach who helps people and companies find, create and accomplish their dreams. This really caught my attention, because that’s exactly what I hope to accomplish with Jubilee Jam, but for kids. To have my inspiring stories and soulful little characters be your kids little “dream coaches” and leave a lasting impression long after they grow up that imprints on their hearts and minds the ability to dream and follow their passions through all the inevitable challenges.

The Dream coach went on to tell how she was called by the Oprah show as they were screening several “Passion Experts” to select for an upcoming show. The next day they called back to tell her she had been selected. When she asked what it was that caused them to pick her, they simply said, because “ you were the most passionate.”

I think it’s impossible to separate dreams and passion. Passion gives fire and fuel to our dreams even when they seem very far off.

Jubilee Jam as I have envisioned it, is a magical world that encourages children to dream and to develop their own unique sense of who they are—what makes them, them, their interests, abilities and special gifts. And hopefully in that discovery, they will learn to celebrate it and share it with the world.

In my first book, I call this their “lost treasure.” And we have a “royal party in Jubilee Jam” when anyone finds some lost treasure!

Those lost treasures lead to GREAT ADVENTURES that take us to the most unexpected places. They stretch us, hopefully bring out the very best in us and most important of all, the world is better for it! I believe every child, has a secret treasure locked up on the inside. My goal is to ignite those early dreams with sparks of light that will one day encourage them to reach for the stars,

As parents, I know we all want to see out kids reach their highest potential, and live a purposeful life.

I’ll close with a quote that summarizes beautifully the sentiments I’ve just described.louisa_may_alcott

“ Far away there in the sunshine are my highest aspirations, I may not reach them, but I can look up and see their beauty, Believe in them, and follow where they may lead.”

Louisa May Alcott

ABOUT OUR WORLD!!!!!

If you read my last blog, you learned a little bit about Jubilee Jam,™ a new children’s entertainment brand with lots to offer, including a unique virtual world , a book series, and great toy characters. Our books and characters are available at our Corner Store. In the first blog, I gave you a little history on the who and the why…What motivated me to throw all my time, effort, and money into creating this new brand? Hopefully it piqued your interest and you even told a few friends. We LOVE new friends in Jubilee Jam!!!!!

This week I thought you might want to understand a little more behind the “what”? As in what is the DNA of the Jubilee Jam ™ brand?

In my first book, Jubilee Jam, A Not Too Distant Land, I describe a special town called Jubilee Jam™. Among other characters, the town has some fun little creatures known as Angel Pies ™ and Handy Heroes ™. These fun characters go on great adventures. They also help Queen Nissi, the royal Queen Bee of Jubilee Jam make her magic “Jam.” J The Angel Pies™ and Handy Heroes ™ love to share this special “jam “with boys and girls. Because everyone knows it makes you “Sweeter, Stronger, Smarter, and Braver!” And who doesn’t need that? In fact the Angel Pies™ and Handy Heroes™ even share some with the parents, “because sometimes they’ve forgotten…..” I’ll be sharing more themes from the books from time to time, so stay tuned.

ABOUT OUR WORLD

The animated virtual world, www.jubileejam.net has 15 unique playrooms. There is one for each character to play in. new town scene lrgMy goal in the variety of different themes for the character playrooms is to encourage each child’s unique creativity and imagination. So grab your child and come play in Peach’’s Garden, paint in Puddin’s Art Studio, or sail with Dandy at his Marina, to name a few! My hope for you as a parent reading this is that you will get a small sense of all the “possibilities” for fun, adventure and maybe even a little developmental opportunities for your child thrown in. Who knows, what he/she might explore and decide to build on later in life! For those wondering about your child’s time on the internet I would suggest that adding Jubilee Jam’s books add a perfect way to engage with your children in the process. I love hearing from parents who tell me their children ask to read Jubilee Jam books every night. One enthusiastic parent even wrote to say her daughter asks for her Jubilee Jam Drops (gummy vitamins) because they make her “ sweeter, stronger, smarter and braver.” My own 7 year old tells me he’s getting nicer. I have to say, I agree! These are teachable moments I hope you make the most of. You will find them baked into everything I write in my books and songs. As we raise our children in this fast-paced, ever changing world. I have attempted to blend timeless traditions we all hold dear with new and always advancing technology, a unique combination of high-tech AND high-touch.

And folks, I’m just getting started! We have so may exciting new things to add to the site. I know you and your child willHoney-Conductor Bee 2 love.

Oh yea, and bee-lieve!

Until next time – Thanks for stopping by!!!

Day 1

Welcome to this blog. I’m Ellen Love, the creator and founder of Jubilee Jam, a unique virtual world for kids with toys, games, books, and songs. Jubilee Jam Logo

I recently had an unexpected compliment. My brother called me to share a story. He had met someone who I had counseled years ago when I did private practice at a Church. She told him the time she had spent with me had changed her life. Wow, I thought, you just never know the impact you may have on someone and how important it is to live intentionally in all our relationships. This is especially true with our kids. I’m not sure you will find your life changed or all your parenting questions answered, in this blog. I do hope you will enjoy reading my thoughts and ideas about parenting, and life in general.

Here are few things you might want to know about me:

  • I am a mother of 3, ages, 7,10, &12,
  • a former therapist
  • a freelance writer – children’s books
  • a creative designer, a song writer, and a Sunday school teacher.

As I’ve watched the popularity of Virtual World’s grow – and my own kids fascination with them – I decided to take my creative skills (and ALL my savings) and put something out there for kids. Something that I thought parents would feel really good about for a change. My goal has been to not just entertain kids, but add value in their lives and personal development.JJ Town Illustration

Judging from the kids joining and playing on the site, I’m on to something here. Judging by all the enthusiastic emails I’ve received from parents it looks like I’m really filling a need and doing something right. My brand may not be for everybody, but it seems to resonate with those who want something with a little substance for their children.

I hope to be able to add some great features as I grow, so keep checking in and tell all your friends so I can get busy and add some more fun things your kids will love.

Along the way, I promise to share some great parenting tips and provide an adventure or two from my writing for the kids. Some parents tell me their kids want to read my books every night. So pull up a chair and stay tuned for a new book you can share with your children. All my books and toys are available in the “Corner Store” for purchase . They make great gifts for your children and their friends!

As I close on my first blog, I wanted to share a final thought or two. I have lived long enough to learn a few things. Of late I’ve been thinking about how precious our time is. It is the ultimate investment and there are so many choices. That you would take the time read my blog and share your children with me is not something I take lightly.

I love wise quotes, you will probably hear me repeat some from time to time. So I’ll leave you with this

Many things catch the eye, But few capture the heart…..pursue those.

My writing, toys, virtual designs, and songs were created with heart and I have pursued them with all the passion I have. I hope Jubilee Jam captures your child’s heart as well!

Jubilee Jam is a magical place. It’s a land of possibilities, adventure, and celebration. It’s A Not Too Distant Land , where just about anything can happen when we become sweeter, stronger, smarter, and braver.
